Senior Coach

Rodney arrives as our Senior Coach with an outstanding football résumé. With over 350 senior games, eight premierships across Seymour and Deer Park, an EDFL League Best & Fairest, and the prestigious Herb Pascal Medal, Rodney brings elite-level experience and leadership. After coaching Newport in 2024, he now takes the reins at Altona, committed to driving standards, connection, and sustained success across the club.

He’ll be supported by our assistant coaches in Jason Coghlan and AFC 2012 premiership player, Tim Andrews.

Development Coach

Jack is Altona through and through. Starting at the club in 2005 at just seven years old, he has gone on to play 300+ career games, including 250+ in purple and gold. A premiership coach at Under 18s (2017) and Development (2018), Jack’s football IQ and care for player growth make him the perfect leader for our developing Vikings.

U18’s Coach

Damian’s journey comes full circle. Beginning at Altona in 2010, he played a key role in two Reserves premierships (2012 & 2013) before gaining senior experience at West Footscray and Laverton. Returning home in 2025 as a player and Under 16s coach, Damian guided the group to a Division 2 premiership, coaching alongside his son Aston. In 2026, Damian leads our Under 18s with a strong values-based approach built on respect, truth, appreciation, gratitude, and adaptability.
